REVEALED: ABBOTT GOVERNMENT CUTTING TASMANIAN RAIL TO PAY FOR IRRIGATION PROJECTS

It has been revealed today in Senate Estimates that the Abbott Government is cutting $60 million from Tasmanian rail projects to pay for the “new” funding found for irrigation projects in the state.  

In classic case of robbing Peter to pay Paul, the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development told Senate estimates today that the Abbott Government have chosen to use savings from its $60 million cut to rail projects in Tasmania to pay for new irrigation projects in the state.

ABBOTT GOVERNMENT CONTINUES TO FAIL TASMANIA

It has been revealed, during Budget hearings in Canberra today, the Abbott Government’s Economic Growth Plan for Tasmania has been subject to cuts and delays.

 

Under questioning from Tasmanian Senator, Carol Brown, the Australian Department for Infrastructure and Regional Development revealed that 27 of 33 projects, worth $74 million, have been approved.
